Description
Anybody could make his own whiskey, and sell to anyone except Indians. And of course if you made and sold whiskey across the border in Canada, why, the U.S. Federal Marshal couldn't lay a finger on you any way at all. Unless you met up with an undercover agent who was stubbornly out to do his job, no matter what the law said. Brent Bargen hated his Indian blood. He was only one quarter Indian but it was enough to bring slurs, animosity, and a dead-end job he hated. When Marshal Moore offers him a job as a deputy, it was more than he could have imagined and he was determined that he would not fail. So he went undercover among the whiskey traders to discover who the man was who financed the trade. It was dangerous enough being around the traders, who could lose their tempers over most anything and come at you with fists, knives, or guns. But there were also the Indians and the wolvers who would gladly kill any whiskey trader. And his biggest threat of all could be the newly formed North West Mounted Police who were out to stop the whiskey traders and thought he was one of the leaders.
